Starting off all I wanted was Aragon to rival Castille. While this may look scary, once you understand how 1.18 changed combat A.I. Here (note no Naples) was my first war with Castille. And then of course there are all the times Albania doesn't ally Hungary in the first place. All of this to say nothing of the times Albania isn't Kebab's first war, which in my experience is an instant restart as the extra development (especially if they take out Byzantium) and time spent getting closer to miltech 4 (instant restart) makes the war unwinnable. Sometimes Hungary and Albania get their armies killed stupidly before you can join, sometimes you win but Hungary immediately get PUed by Austria and Poland hate you so you get eaten by Kebab later anyway, sometimes you win but Hungary wants your provinces and Poland hates you so you get eaten by Hungary, and sometimes Serbia and Byzantium (with most of their cores back) attack you while your manpower and economy are recovering but only Albania honours the call to arms so you get rather embarrassingly eaten by Serbia (totally talking about a friend here, swear it wasn't me). TL:DR: Use Albanian leadership and Hungarian manpower to beat the Ottomans before 1450.ĭon't get too excited, it's still tough sledding. I've been able to employ this strategy twice in a row (my first two tries) successfully, and on my second attempt gain all my cores back by June 1448. In the peace offer, Albania will likely reward you back all of your cores, since your warscore should be approaching 100. Also, with nearly 40,000 men at his command, Skanderbeg becomes unstoppable. Hungary, yourself, and possibly Serbia will provide plenty of manpower for the war. They will call you into their war, which should now almost be one sided. Improve relations with Albania and after the Ottomans declare war, offer them an alliance. The Ottomans usually won't hesitate to fight these two or three alone, giving you a chance. Even better yet, Serbia may even guarantee them. In 1.19, Albania gains Hungary as an ally almost instantly. However, the only ally you need is Albania. There are plenty of techniques of intricate ways to steal back your cores from the Ottomans at the start of the game such as paying off Austria to ally you or disabling the The Cossacks DLC to eliminate favors.
